# Nitro Pools

Nitro Pools are special duration-fixed pools that first **require a user’s spNFT to enter**. These specialty pools offer an additional layer of yield rewards in addition to the farming incentives (when enabled)!

Nitro Pools also allow projects to incentivize additional liquidity for pairs in a completely permissionless and customizable way. Each Nitro pool can be custom-tailored towards a project's needs, as they can set their own LP /reward parameters and even target specific users/LPs they want to reward. 

Nitro Pools can exist as either an **official pool** that has been created by the Hercules team or verified partner, or as an **unofficial pool** created by projects looking to add additional LP incentives for their pairs.
